Clint Eastwood’s upcoming Hereafter delves into an area that the director has never really explored before – the supernatural. I haven’t seen a whole lot of Eastwood’s directorial projects, but can tell you that this is very far from his action / western / comedy movie days. It’s a very dramatic and sweeping film that begs to ask the question “What comes after death?” I can’t really go into detail about the movie until Friday morning, so until then this trailer and some clips will have to do.
Three people are touched by death in different ways. George is a blue-collar American who has a special connection to the afterlife. On the other side of the world, Marie, a French journalist, has a near-death experience that shakes her reality. And when Marcus, a London schoolboy, loses the person closest to him, he desperately needs answers. Each on a path in search of the truth, their lives will intersect, forever changed by what they believe might–or must–exist in the hereafter.
Hereafter was directed by Clint Eastwood and stars Matt Damon, Cécile De France, Jay Mohr, Bryce Dallas Howard, and George McLaren.
The movie comes out this Friday, October 22nd.
Below is a theatrical trailer for Hereafter and four clips. The first clip is entitled “Cursed” and has “George (Matt Damon) talk[ing] with his brother Billy (Jay Mohr). The second clip is entitled “Death” and features “Dr. Rousseau (Marthe Keller) talk[ing] with Marie (Cécile De France) about death. “Mr. Andrews Neighbor” has “George (Matt Damon) rebuff[ing] Candace (Jenifer Lewis). The last clip is “A Question” and it has “George (Matt Damon) refus[ing] to do a reading for Melanie (Bryce Dallas Howard).”
