Each year, the Mars Corporation puts out a special holiday edition to their M&M line up. Not only is the packaging attractive and cute, but you can either purchase flavored M&Ms in the medium and large size bags, or you can choose to purchase the tube candies that come with a fun Christmas design and also include a collectible M&M figurine on top that will create a train if you collect them all. This year, one of the new flavors that was put out was the mint chocolate M&M. The medium size bag features the newer sexy green female M&M inside a snow globe with a snowman in the North Pole.
I originally picked up this green package of M&Ms because of the cute package. The M&Ms themselves come in red, green and white as you would expect for a Christmas themed candy. When I bit into my first white M&M, boy was I surprised to find that not only was it not an original milk chocolate candy but it had a refreshingly strong mint flavor leaving a cool feeling in my mouth as I got my chocolate fix. The taste was so refreshing that I couldn’t stop at one M&M but had two handfuls! These M&Ms are slightly larger than the plain milk chocolate ones but about the same size as the peanut butter ones.
The mint flavoring in these bite sized candies is very refreshing. It is a strong mint flavor but not overwhelmingly so that you can’t taste the chocolate. The candy coating is still the same, just a different color for the Christmas season. The medium size package weighs 9.90 ounces and claims that there are seven servings in the bag, which according to the package, is only twelve nine M&Ms per serving. If you are a candy lover like myself, you wouldn’t be able to stop at just nine of these bite sized, candy coated pieces.
On the back, the package also features one of my favorite things, a cookie recipe that is perfect for holiday baking. This one in particular is for mint M&M sugar cookies.
Overall, I recommend these Mint M&Ms to any mint lover out there. The flavor is refreshing and makes a great “after coffee” treat.
