“You have got to be kidding me.” This is what my friend said when I brought him to the Hooters Restaurant, that’s located in Fairfax, VA. Sure he had been to plenty of their other fine dining locations, but he couldn’t believe the sheer beauty of the staff that work at this one. All of their restaurants are based upon owls, but this one’s got the best hooters I’ve seen at least on the East Coast. The ladies that work here, as my buddy exclaimed, could all be centerfolds in “one of those magazines.” Truly gorgeous, and the diversity of women working here is phenomenal. A lot of this is due to Fairfax having some of the prettiest women in the country, but also because a lot of the staff here are college students at nearby George Mason University.
This is one of the busiest Hooter’s, and it draws large crowds on Friday and Saturday nights, along with Sunday NFL action. Its my favorite place to go for this, along with their fantastic dining platters. Of course, I do go for the sights, but that’s last on the list. The location of the restaurant is perfect, being close to numerous businesses and busy intersections, but the wait times don’t last forever. In fact, on most occasions I’ve simply walked in, and am immediately greeted by a ravishing beauty. A server is almost always at your table in a couple of minutes, and they do go the extra mile here, to provide fine service with a smile and those famous outfits.
Get the “raw oysters.” Show off your toughness by slurping on these delicacies, that are a starter that I particularly enjoy. Their salty and complex flavors are a fine way of awakening your taste buds, and are even better with a glass of draft beer. Usually I order the Hooters Burger, which is truly “more than a mouthful” as the menu states. At $8 its a decent value, although its nothing special. My only irritation is that you have to pay for fries. That’ll set you back another $2, which is a bit riiculous, but these curly potatoes are quite tasty at least. Their chicken sandwich is simple enough, priced in the same range, and has the same deal with the fries.
Be sure you order at least a few of their wings. Their hottest ones are called “Three Mile Island,” after that famous nuclear accident from years ago. These will capture your attention, make you sweat, and are mercifully provided with celery sticks, lots of napkins, and a glass of water. A bit expensive, these are the biggest wings I’ve seen around, and among the most tasty. For those who don’t want to break out the thermometer, try either their mild or “regular” hot. Most will find that spicy one to be a bit more forgiving, and all are served with either blue cheese or ranch. You can get the wings in the 10 piece size, or go way up from there if you have a large party with you.
This Hooters is simply the best. Although the food is average at best, what differentiates it from others is the staff. The beautiful women are amazing, and due to their high levels of education, they are more than intelligent enough as well. I’ve got a few good jokes from a few of them that I like to share, and this is a fun place to go for you and your buds to get some “grub and viewing opportunities.” Its open from 11 a.m.-2 a.m. most days, and along with its bar does have plenty of big screens when you can focus on a particular game. Located at 10334 Fairfax Boulevard in Fairfax, VA 22030, its a “must stop at” establishment.
