My favorite time of year in Houston is when the temperatures actually start to get cool and everyone starts getting in the holiday spirit. It is that magical time of year where everything is decorated and sparkles, when people are in great spirits. We have some great holiday parades and family celebrations to kick off the season here in the bayou city. Below I have listed some of the biggest, and most popular Houston, Texas Christmas Events and Parades, guaranteed to get the season started off right.

On Thursday, November the 25th Post Oak Boulevard will be transformed into a winter wonderland. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Uptown Holiday Lighting. This family event which benefit’s the Be An Angel foundation attracts thousands of Houstonians and out of town visitors to celebrate the start of the holiday season. On Thursday November the 25th Thanksgiving day the festivities start at 4:00 p.m. with holiday music and concessions. And at 7:00 p.m. is when the big event happens, Santa and his reindeer will light up the boulevard and then the fireworks will begin.
