Google is ranked #1 in the world according to Alexa three-month traffic rankings. It has been around since 1997 and is the most widely used search engine in the world. This is how to use google.com to find what you need.
Go to www.google.com. You will notice the bright colors of the google image. Blue, red, yellow, and green. Just start typing in key words or phrases in the middle box. Google will start to try and finish your word or phrase and if it is what you want, just click on the phrase and the search engine will give you the results. Even if there are spelling errors, the search engine will try and give you corrected suggestions. This method is the most basic of search techniques. You can use the “Google Search” button or the “i’m Feeling Lucky” button.
If you don’t get the proper results, then try using the advanced search link to the right of the google search box. A window will pop up that you can put in key works or exact words and phrases. It also has a boolean type logic search of or’s that can be used for one or more words. There is also and option to exclude unwanted words. There are also more advance tools that can narrow results down to number per page, language and file type. A site or domain can also be targeted. Expand the date, usage rights, numberic rand, and more and there will be more choices that enable a date or date range. Filtered can be done by usage rights and target where key words appear at (e.g. anywhere in the page, in the title of the page). Regions can also be narrowed down. Numeric ranges can also be targeted. You can also select safesearch.
The best thing to do is try and keep it simple. Try and find keywords and phrases that target in on what you are looking for.
