Looking for a job is very frustrating and with so many people out of work the Ferndale Public Library is offering help to residents.
On Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. the Ferndale Public Library will host a one-hour workshop on how to create a professional resume. This workshop will offer valuable information on what information should and should not be included on your resume. If this workshop is a success more will probably follow.
On the Ferndale Public Library website under the tab “research & information” you can find a “job search” link which has a list of online places to search for a job with a link to each one. This list includes Michigan Works, Michigan Talent Bank, Monster, Career Builder, and more, just go there and check it out.
Another valuable asset to the Ferndale Public Library job search page is the banner that offers “free resume examples and sample cover letters”, this is a great resource for any job seeking individual. This banner actually takes you to the Southworth.com web site where you can view different styles of resume and cover letters created by professionals. Basically all you have to do is change the information in the samples to your information and that tedious job of creating a great resume and cover letter is done.
The Ferndale Public Library also has public computers which are free to use for residents although time restrictions may apply.
So, if you are serious about finding employment a good place to start is at the Ferndale Public Library or you can go to the website on your home computer, either way make sure you use every resource available to you and don’t give up. Eventually, you will find that awesome job you’ve been looking for.
