The world of streaming media in homes is getting bigger by the minute, Apple TV is a prime example of this. Roku is also another great way to stream content from the internet to a TV in your house. Out of the box the Roku streamers have a good lineup of channels that are ready to go, including Netflix, Last FM, Pandora and soon Hulu will be joining Roku’s lineup. There are more channels out there though that are not included and i will show you where to find them and how to add them. Most of the are free and some are subscription based.
There is a website that has a listing of all channels that you can add to your Roku and that can be found at http://www.roku-channels.com/ this is a list of the channels that are available to be added. When you look at the list you will see that there is a column that says code. This is the code you will need to add the channel to your Roku. Here are the steps you need to follow to add these channels
STEP 1 – go to https://owner.roku.com/Account/ChannelCode/ if you are not signed in to your account, sign in
STEP 2- Find the channel code from the list and enter it into the box
STEP 3- Click on submit and you will be told that the new channel will be available on your Roku within 24 hours. Thats it, it is really that easy!
