Right now lots of people are out of work and the economy is doing really bad. Any way to earn some extra money is a good thing. Lots of online money making systems are scams though. However Amazon has started a system that you can use to make money from small jobs at home. This sounds promising but does it really work as good as it sounds? You will have to read on to find out more.
Lets face it there are tons of scams online about how you can make money. Most of these are just scams. There are a few ways that are legitimate but make you little money for the time. With a big company like Amazon backing this new system though one would expect that the Amazon Mechanical Turk would be a good way to make some extra cash. So is it really a worth while way to earn some extra income?
It is easy to join,. Just go to the website and sign up. It is about as easy as joining Amazon and it is easier if you already have signed up with Amazon. Because it is easy to sign up that is one advantage the program has over other online business.
When I looked there were literally thousands of jobs available so that all looks good. You can change how the jobs are listed. You can make sure you see the top paying jobs first. Many of the jobs may be hard or require certain skill. Most of the jobs pay very little and probably are not worth doing. Some jobs do not even pay you. One of the most absurd jobs I saw was someone trying to get people to write a school paper for free.
The big problem is that it takes lots of time to find anything you can do that pays well. Even if you want to try to do thousands of .01 jobs reading everything in the descriptions of what you have to do takes time and often you will be making only a couple dollars an hour on these jobs. If you could get one job that paid even a dollar or two it would be nice but there is a $10 minimum before you can pull out money. Some jobs do give you more then then $10 though.
They should implement a system based on the actual job. For instance paid to click, writing, translating, or other category of job. Or even a search bar and it can search at least the titles for your keyword.
I have done some jobs on the site and was very unhappy with the experience. One job required me to download a program which the job description did not mention. I did the job then they claimed it was not done and my IP never showed I went to the site, they did have an e-mail to send if you thought it messed up so maybe I will get my money someday. There are also lots of junk jobs that will send you to sites you have to give your information and you will likely not get credited anyway. When you go to some of these sites they are the free $250 gift card types and if you leave e-mail or phone info you will get lots of junk mail and messages so do not do it.
Overall I was very unhappy with the experience of Amazon’s Mechanical Turk. I did not make any money at all but wasted a hour or two trying. In theory I should have made a nice side income better then a minimum wage job but the reality was far from that. I would not suggest you even try the site out for yourself it will just be a waste of time.
