There are legitimate ways to make money online, you just have to know what to look for. Most work at home sites online that advertise that you can make a living online right away are lying. Learn how to avoid getting caught in a work from home scam by doing your homework.
Avoid work at home scams- Do a Google search
Always do a Google search for the name of the program + scam to see if you can find any reports of scams. Keep in mind that many of these making money online programs will change their names after enough people have complained about them. If you can’t find any reviews of the service, just wait. Try to search again in a couple of months. Whether a work at home program is a scam or is legitimate, you should find some information on the program.
Avoid work at home scams- Read the fine print
Always read the terms and conditions before filling in any of your personal information. The additional charges they plan to make on your bank account or credit card are usually listed in the fine print. I will not use any program that asks for my bank or credit account information. If you have been scammed in the past, try to work with your bank or credit company to remove the charges. You must do this right away or they may not be able to fix it (usually after 60 days).
Avoid work at home scams- What are they offering?
Ask yourself if the claims the online money making program is making seem reasonable or realistic. If you are being asked to pay for a training program, or a list of jobs, they are probably not good news. If it isn’t clear what they are offering in return for your hard earned money, save your cash.
Avoid work at home scams- How long does it take?
Your time is valuable! Always consider how much time you are putting in and what you are getting out of it. I like to do Mechanical Turk when I have nothing better to do, but it is a very small amount of money and I would never consider it to be a work from home job. I do a few quick tasks when I don’t have time to focus on completing articles. I know that it won’t pay off quickly enough to pay the bills. Being realistic about how you spend your time trying to make money online is one of the most important factors in making an online living.
You should NEVER pay money to make money. There are ways to make money online without having to pay someone to tell you where to look. Ask yourself what kind of a service you can provide, and then search for places to market yourself.
