The fall season is a time of year where vibrant reds and oranges mix with yellows and browns to create a canvas of earthy tones that can be brought together to decorate your home. The centerpiece of a dining room table can really add to the welcomed feeling of your home as well as make for a great way to get creative. And with this easy to follow guide, creating your own fall centerpiece is fun and results in a beautiful decoration that can be used year after year.
Before assembling your centerpiece, you will have to make sure that you have gathered together the items needed. A bowl, preferably a clear glass one, of your choice should be chosen in order to hold the main contents of your center piece. The reason for the bowl to be clear is so that the contents of your center piece will be easily visible. Next, you will gather the items to be placed inside of your bowl. Since this is to be a fall center piece, pine cones work perfectly, and can be gathered right outside your home. You will also need some spray paint to decorate your pine cones with. Lastly, you will need some garnishes to scatter around your pine cones, any sort of plastic fruit or even nuts will work just fine. Keep in mind that the size of your center piece is one hundred percent based on what you prefer, but if you choose a smaller bowl, be sure to choose smaller fruit to scatter through your pine cones.
To begin, after you have found the bowl of your choice, set it aside and focus on your pine cones. Carefully, and on a covered table top, spray paint your pine cones with any sort of spray paint you choose. Gold glitter I have found to be very effective as well as making the center piece look beautiful. However, you can choose a color of your choice. These pine cones are going to have to dry of course, and while they are drying you can then find the other garnishes you wish to add to your center piece. This can be plastic fruit as I have mentioned such as cranberries, or with flowers or nuts.
When your acorns are dried, it is not time to assemble your centerpiece. In order to get an even look of pine cones and garnishes for your centerpiece, you will want to assemble the pine cones and garnishes in layers. For example, scatter some pine cones on the base of your bowl, then scatter some garnishes, then add some more pine cones, and then add some more garnishes. You will repeat this method until all of your pine cones are inside of the centerpiece bowl.
Remember that your centerpiece can be as simple or bedazzled as you choose. You can add ribbons around your bowl, other sorts of fall embellishments like plastic pumpkin faces or scarecrow faces. By following the simple steps, your fall centerpiece will not only be inviting to guests and family members, but will also be something fun that you and your family can take part in and have to cherish for many fall seasons to follow.
