If you are using the TikiWiki CMS to build your website, you can quickly create a shoutbox. In this tutorial, I am going to show you how to create a shoutbox in TikiWiki. Before you can create this shoutbox, you must activate the module that controls it. Untik you activate this module, the option will be darkened. Once you activate it, it will brighten up and then you can create your shoutbox. Login to your admin area of the site and we will get started with this tutorial.
How to Activate Your Shoutbox Module in TikiWiki CMS
Let’s begin with the activation. Bottom line, you can’t do anything until you activate this module. Load your Features page in TikiWiki. If you are unfamiliar with this section, you will need to click the Admin Home link in the left panel and then you will see the Features option on the right. Click the Features box and you will see the different modules you can activate. Look for the Shoutbox module and activate it by checking the box next to it. Then click the button to save the changes.
Creating the Shoutbox in TikiWiki CMS
You are now ready to create your shoutbox. On the left side of the page, where the links are, you will need to find the shoutbox link. Once you find it, you will need to click it to load the shoutbox settings page.
When the page loads, you will see the message box. Type your message in this box. Then click the Save button below the box. To enter another message in the shoutbox, simply type another message and click the Save button again. Each time you want to enter a new message in the shoutbox, this is the place you will need to go to do so.
When you are finished with your shoutbox, you can close the page or move onto another part of your site. To learn more about using TikiWiki CMS, please see my other tutorials on this CMS.
