You have the option of showing what you want to show in your control panel. You can show certain things and you can hide certain things. This is called customizing your control panel. In this guide, I will show you how to customize your control panel in ExpressionEngine. You will need to login as the admin to get started. Only the administrator can customize the control panel of the site.
Once you are logged in, you will need to click the My Account tab at the top of your control panel. On the account page, look to the left of the page and find the Customize Control Panel button. Click the plus sign beside that button and that will expand your options. In this section, you will need to click the Control Panel Home link. That will load your options where you can select what is shown and what is hidden. Let’s take a look at the fields on this page.

The above options are what you will find on the home page of your control panel. You have three options when it comes to these items. First, you can place them on the left side of your page. Second, you can place them on the right side of your page, or third, you can hide them.
Beside each option, you will need to tick the field of your choice. You can place the item on the left, right, or hide it. Go through each item and select your option. Then click the Update button at the bottom of the options to save it. You can then return to your control panel home and you will see your changes.
You can also change your control panel theme. To do this, you will need to click the Control Panel Theme link in the Control Panel box you were just in. When the control panel theme page loads, you can drop the box down and select the theme you want to use.
