A while ago, I was in my house playing Runescape, and I realized I had been playing for 10 hours straight. This got me thinking, and I realized that I had to change something. After some thinking and remembering a method I used to get over World of Warcraft a while back, I knew what I needed to do.. The method involved making a set of goals that would help me have fun while getting closure and ultimately quitting the game. This technique really worked for me, and It can work for you too. I have compiled a list of the goals that I used to stop playing runescape. You are welcome to use these, or you can make up your own:
1. Reach combat level 100
This made the most sense for me, because I was already level 96. I would recommend aiming for the next multiple of ten level (60, 70, 80, etc.) after your current level.
2. Reaching the TzTok-Jad in the TzHaar fight caves.
This was a bit harder, but I had done it before, at a much lower level. It till took some preparation, and a few tries, but I eventually beat Jad and got my fire cape!
3. Getting 200 quest points
This one took a while, as I hadnt been a big quester. It was definitely the funnest of my goals, and it helped me get closure in the game.
4. Beat the entire Recipe for Disaster quest.
This had been one of my goals since I started playing, but I had never gotten around to it. This was one of my best achievements, because it really helped me end my time on Runescape the way I wanted to.
5. Earn 10M gp. This took a while, but It was a very rewarding goal. I bought a few expensive F2P items, so if I ever decide to log on in a few months, I can see If I have made any money!
I hope you use and enjoy my advice!
