Mice may look cute, but they can get into your house and become a serious problem. These mice can make nests in your home, which can cause your house to become a mouse breeding ground. While these usually are not any threat to people, they aren’t good to see in your home. Here are some ways to get rid of mice…
Cracks and Holes
If you are having problem with mice in your house, you should go around your house and try to find any cracks or holes. The mice are coming in some how, so if you want the mice infestation to stop, you are going to need to eliminate the ways that they are entering your home. You can buy sealants at most home improvement stores. Sealants will fill in cracks and holes.
There are many types of traps that you can use to catch mice, but box traps are the most common and humane way of catching mice. These types of trap lure the mice in with some type of food. Once the mouse has entered the trap to get the food, the door behind them closes so that they can’t get out. The mouse is not harmed or killed. You can then go release the mouse a distance away from your house.
Towel Pick Up
Most people do not want to pick up a mouse with their bare hands, so if you see a mouse you can easily pick it up by throwing a towel on it. Then grab above where the mouse is and either put it in a box or carry it outside to an area that is a decent distance away from your house and set it free.
Adopt A Cat
While this isn’t the most humane way, cats are wonderful for rodent control, especially female cats. Cats are natural born hunters and they are great at it. Not only will you be giving a loving pet a good home, but also the cat will have an absolute blast keeping your mice out of your home. You are sure to have a happy and healthy new addition to the family.
Mice love to be in a messy environment because they have plenty of places to hide. A messy room also gives them a higher chance of finding left out food or food crumbs that they can snack on.
Peppermint is a smell that mice seem to not like much at all. Mice will usually smell the peppermint and go the other way. You can buy peppermint oil and soak cotton balls it, and then you can place them around places that you commonly see mice.
