I know some people LOVE LOVE LOVE Facebook’s “Farmville” and other such games. However, some people are not interested in them and would like to hide these applications.
To hide applications on Facebook, follow these steps:
On any of the posts, there will be an “X” in the upper right corner. When hovering your mouse over the “X,” a pop-up says “Remove.”
Click on the “X” and another window opens asking what you want to do.
Options include: “Hide person,” “Hide application name,” “Mark as Spam,” or “Cancel.”
Hide person will keep all posts from this person hidden. If you do not want to “un-friend” someone, but their posts are something you’d prefer not to see, this is a way to hide their posts.
Hide application name (this would be like Farmville or Treasure Isle) will hide all posts from this application. So, this is the option for all of you Facebook Friends out there that keep posting that you do not want to see Farmville posts.
Mark as Spam is only used for inappropriate posts. The post will be reviewed by Facebook and possibly can ban the person from Facebook. Use caution and discretion if using this option.
Cancel simply takes you out of the pop-up window.
HINT: Another easy option is to simply view the Facebook page “Top News.” When viewing the “Top News,” the application posts are not supposed to be viewable. However, I have found that this doesn’t always work.
I hope this helps all of you non-Farmviller’s!
