I always seem to need to lose weight fast. For a wedding, a holiday or another special occasion, I’m an expert on how to drop 10 lbs quickly and easily without that much effort. If you too need to drop 10 lbs fast, don’t worry. Follow these fast tips, and you’ll be 10lbs lighter in no time.
Always Eat Breakfast – I don’t know how many people I know who decide to go on a diet and immediately cut out breakfast. Cutting out breakfast is the worst thing you can do if you’re trying to lose 10lbs quickly. In fact, it’s not a coincidence that breakfast is known as the “best meal of the day”.
Eating breakfast jump starts your metabolism, gives you energy and gets your body moving to help you meet the new day. If you’re worried about eating too many calories for breakfast, this is what I eat every day – one slice of wholewheat toast with a scraping of butter, a low-fat yoghurt, a piece of fruit and a cup of coffee. This will give you around 375 calories and will get you off to a great start.
Eat Small Meals and Two Snacks – Your body burns off calories, and thus fat, faster if it’s continually fueled. That’s why the meals you eat should be small and should include two snacks throughout the day, so your body is constantly fueled and your metabolism working flat out.
I always eat a small breakfast (mentioned above) at 6am. At 9am, I eat a granola bar or a rice cake. At 12pm, I have my lunch. Usually a salad, half a wholewheat sandwich with tuna or cheese and stuffed full of lettuce, tomatoes and onions, and a couple of pieces of chocolate for dessert. At 3pm, I have a small cup of Grape Nuts with non-fat milk, or a piece of fruit. And, at 5:30pm, I eat my final meal of the day of grilled fish or chicken, two steamed vegetables, a baked potato, and jello, pudding, or two more small pieces of chocolate.
This whole regime gives me around 1,500 calories a day – more than an average ‘diet’ but I lose weight quickly and I’m never hungry. That’s because eating small meals and two snacks continually fuels my body and my metabolism works at its fastest to burn off what I’m eating, along with burning off any fat I already have.
Stop Eating at 6pm – If there’s one thing I wish I could get everyone who needs to lose weight to do, it’s this. No matter what food you’re eating when you’re trying to lose weight, stop eating at 6pm. If you do this one thing, you’ll see your weight loss drastically increase quickly.
Whenever I’m trying to lose weight, I eat my last meal at 5:30pm so, by the time 6pm rolls around, I’ve finished eating for the day. Stopping eating at 6pm gives your body time to burn off the calories you’ve consumed during the day. But, if you eat after 6pm, most of those calories will not be burned off and will be turned into fat while you sleep. If you stop eating at 6pm, you’ll even find you can eat slightly more during the day and still lose weight fast.
After 6pm, if you still want to eat, brush your teeth, exercise, drink a glass of water or a cup of coffee. This will help satisfy you until you can eat again at breakfast the following morning.
Move – A lot of people who try to lose 10lbs quickly seem to think cutting down on food while plonked in front of the TV is going to help them lose weight. Sure, it’ll help you lose a little bit but, if you want to lose weight fast without starving yourself you need to move.
Take a walk around the neighborhood, ride a stationary bike in front of the TV at night, get off the bus a couple of stops early and walk home, walk to work instead of driving, walk to the store instead of driving, do some house cleaning – do anything that’s going to cause you to burn off more calories, and your weight loss will be that much faster.
If I want to lose 10lbs very quickly, I always add 30 minutes of walking or bike riding to my daily schedule. That alone will cause you to lose at least one pound of weight a week, causing you to lose weight even faster.
