Fall offers a great variety of colors that are so gorgeous. I love to take my daughter’s picture with the fall foliage showing in the back ground each year. Especially around Halloween when she’s wearing her costume. To display her pictures we have made a couple of different picture frames. They are easy and inexpensive to make but look great displayed around the house!
The first picture frame we did we needed:
Black, Red, Orange, Yellow, Brown construction paper
Use the black paper to cut out a frame to put around your picture. You can make a circle or rectangle frame, which ever goes best with your picture and décor.
Next you will need to cut out leaves from the remaining construction paper colors, red, orange, yellow and brown.
Glue the construction paper leaves around the black frame for your picture. It’s ok for the leaves to overlap and stick up towards the picture as long as they are not covering up the subjects in the pictures.
Now you can hang the picture on the fridge, tape it to the wall, or place it in a scrapbook!
The next fall picture frame is our favorite. You will need these materials:
Cheap picture frame (you can find them at Dollar stores for $1)
Contact paper or laminate paper
This is fun to go collect different colored and shapes of leaves from the location that you take your photo at. Kids love collecting leaves for this project. You just can’t get any more beautiful leaves than picking them up off the ground right from nature. Their colors are so vibrant and unique.
Next, you will want to laminate the leaves. You can do this using laminate paper or using contact paper. Laminate each leaf and cut them out individually. You could laminate two or three overlapping each other if you wish.
Glue the laminated leaves to the picture frame. You can go all around the frame or just do the corners or just the top or bottom of the frame. The design is completely up to you or your children.
The last picture frames are really cute to place on the fridge or in a scrapbook.
You will need:
Fresh fall leaves
Take your fresh fall leaves and place a small locket size picture in the middle of the leaf.
Then, laminate the leaf with the picture on it. Cut it out.
Glue a magnet to the back of the laminated leaf and place on your refrigerator! These are super cute and help you decorate even your fridge for fall!
