Angina is a sign that the arteries of the heart are clogging up with fat. The blood cannot get through to nourish the heart. Angina is normally treated with nitroglycerin tablets but there are other alternative remedies that patients can adopt in order to reduce the number of angina attacks. These are:
1.If you experience angina attacks at night, tilting the head of your bed up 3 or 4 inches can reduce the number of attacks. Sleeping in this position makes more blood pool in your legs. So not so much returns to the heart’s narrowed arteries. All heart patients, however should get their doctors approval before starting ohm aspirin. Even though it is over the counter, it may interact with other medications you may be on
2.For those with unstable angina the kind that attacks without exertion, such as when you are resting or even sleeping, aspirin can be very helpful. Aspirin prevents the initial activation of the blood clotting mechanism.
3.Learn to relax in order to stop angina. You can relax by exercising or meditating. There patients who never get angina except when they a fight with someone and yet when they exercise they have no problem. So learn how to control your emotions. Angina is not a reason not to exercise. Before you begin exercising, consult with your doctor in order to get a stress test.
