Analog or digital TV tuner
Television receiver box with coaxial input
RCA audio and video connectors
VCR or DVD player
Satellite or cable TV connection
Check your monitor’s interface method. The interface of your monitor will vary with each model and type; check the monitor’s interface to check the model and type. Determine if the model is among the following RCA, S-Video or an HDMI interface. Make sure the television tuner has connectors that match your computer monitor’s interface.
Install the analog TV receiver. This is the receiver you will use for watching satellite or cable TV. This procedure usually entails attaching one end of a coaxial cable to your receiver. The other end will have to be connected to whatever type of television signal source is available. Often, this can be a cable TV connector, or a cable TV box or satellite signal box.
