When you have a baby in the house, there are many things to stock up on, like diapers and baby wipes. For a new mom like me, I had no idea which wipes to get from all the choices in the stores. Two common brands did stand out and they were Pampers and Huggies. After a while of using both, I’ve drawn enough comparison to know which is best. Read on to find out how they compare to each other, and which one came out on top?
First of all, the line of Huggies I used was “Huggies Natural Care” and the line of Pampers I used was “Pampers Baby Fresh“.
Both of them cleaned well, even during heavy duty situations. But Pampers did take off more dirt and I was able to use less wipes for the same amount.
To test, I used both wipes on my eye makeup (yes, baby wipes are great makeup removers). I had on pretty tough-to-remove things, like waterproof mascara. Huggies did wipe away the makeup, but I wiped more times and pressed harder. With Pampers, the makeup was gone with just a few gentle wipes.
How They Felt on the Skin
Of course the baby can’t talk, but against my own skin, the Pampers wipes were obviously softer.
The Pampers had more intricate texture, more moisture and were more soothing on my hands. The Huggies were rough in texture and dry to touch.
After my eye makeup test, the Pampers wipes left my eyes feeling refreshed and cleansed. But with the Huggies wipes, the texture was so tough and I had to wipe so much harder, my eyes felt roughed up and dry.
On the subject of price, Huggies wipes were cheaper. At Walgreens online, a box of 72 counts of Huggies is only $4.40, but the same box of Pampers costs $4.49.
I know 9 cents is not a big deal, but if you use baby wipes all the time, it adds up.
No matter how much cheaper Huggies are, Pampers baby wipes are better by far! They were gentle on my skin, but tough on all the nasty things I needed to remove. In my opinion, Pampers are worth the extra cost. If you are worried about the price, there are a lot of coupons for Pampers. You can even buy coupons on ebay (yup! That’s right! Ebay!).
