IHOP (better known as the International House of Pancakes), located at 276 Livingston St. between Bond Street and Hanover Place is one of the best restaurants in downtown Brooklyn. Whether you’re part of the morning breakfast crowd, or one of those people who like to have breakfast for dinner, IHOP will surely not disappoint.
The food is always fresh, no matter what time of the day you visit the restaurant, and the service is amazing. Your wait time for a table never takes more than a few minutes and when there is a crowd waiting to be seated, the hostess tries to seat everyone accordingly. The food is definitely worth waiting for.
If you’re going out for breakfast on a Sunday morning, my advice to you is to arrive a half-hour early as the restaurant does get crowded later in the morning. IHOP also offers a child-friendly menu and each week has different specials which you can choose from. Right now, they are offering their Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity breakfast for $4.99. You can check online often for specials. You can even join their mailing list to get a special discount on your birthday, or updates on the specials that the restaurant is offering.
I would recommend trying the buttermilk pancakes, which come with just about any breakfast you order. IHOP also has four different types of syrup you can choose from at the table to complete your pancake breakfast: Blueberry, Apple, Strawberry and Maple.
Remember, IHOP not only offers breakfast, they also have a full-line of dinners as well. Don’t let the name fool you; pancakes are not the only meal they serve.
Be sure to check out the restaurant the next time you are in downtown Brooklyn, and just remember if you are visiting on the weekend to arrive early.
