We all know that yoga stretches are great for our body in generally. But did you know that there are certain stretches or rather eye yoga type exercises you do for your eyes as well?
Jene Rigney Battenberg and Martha Rigeney has written a book entitled Eye Yoga. In this book they describe different types of eye exercises that we can do to help awaken deep layers of your brain. Once these areas of the brain has been awaken again, our eye are suppose to have an increase in flexibility and they are suppose to become stronger with time. These exercises are even supposed to help us relax.
Here are a few of their exercises:
To do this exercise you are to simply imagine that there is a clock in front on you. Now look up with your eyes in the direction of where the 12 o’clock symbol of would be if it was real. Do not move your head. Slowly sweep your gaze around the face of the clock. Now reverse your gaze counter clock wise. If you can do so, change the speed of your gaze.
Finger push up
Hold your arm out with your index finger pointing in toward the tip of your nose. Slowly, begin to move your arm in toward you as your finger becomes close and closer to your nose. Keep your eyes fixated on your finger and try to keep it into focus. Repeat five to eight time.
Once you finished exercising your eyes, always stop by cupping your eyes with your hands and allowing them to relax for a moment, in a comfortable closed positioned.
