Traders Village will again be filled with the pounding drums and rhythmic song of Native Americans as the Northwest Houston Marketplace hosts the annual Texas Championship Pow Wow, November 13th and 14th.
Hundreds of Native Americans representing dozens of tribes from across the country will converge on Traders Village for two days of colorful competition each dancing for their portion of $15,000 in prize money.
The new 50,000 square foot GRAY Expo will offer up artists and craftsmen showcasing their Pow Wow-style wares both days beginning at 10 a.m. From jewelry, hand carved flutes, and blankets, to kachinas, paintings, woodcarvings and more, these works truly capture the tribal spirits of the Native American.
The Indian food booth will serve an authentic sampling of Native American fare with fry bread tacos, fry bread and more.
Dance and music begins at 11:30 a.m. each day with the grand entry at 12 noon. Competitions will run throughout the afternoon as dancers in their colorful regalia take to the arena and mingle with guests outside the event area.
