Albert Fish- Albert Fish had a bad reputation and was known as a vile pedophile that molested over 400 children. Although others have portrayed him as a nice, gentle, elderly man, they did not know that there was something in Albert that was ready to unleash. All of his victims were children and believe it or not, he had 6 children of his own. Fish being the “friendly” old man that lived down the street, would lure these children into his home and torture them in various ways. One method consisted of a wooden paddle covered in sharp nails. Obviously used to beat these children to a pulp. After beating them, he would then rape them, cut them open and cook their insides for a bed time meal.
Albert Fish lived a life of insanity and inflicted pain on himself. Like the paddle he would use on his victims, he also used on himself. He found great pleasure in hitting himself with the paddle and digging sharp nails into his skin. This self-infliction began when his wife of 20 years, left him.
David Berkowitz- Also known as the “Son of Sam,” is infamous for his crimes that occurred in New York City. He murdered 6 people and injured and wounded several others. Not only was he known for such an odd crime at the time, but he was known for the disturbing letters he wrote and sent to police and the media. In those letters, he explained reasons why he committed such crimes. Those reasons were beyond disturbing and soon after receiving the letter, the police called on 200 detectives catch David before he killed again.
David “Son of Sam” Berkowitz was deeply corrupted by the loss of his mother. Psychologists say that may be the reason he lost his sanity and took the lives of six innocent people. Growing up, he had a normal childhood, but deep down, something was urging to get out. As an adult, what he was holding in, finally came out and the results were beyond belief.
Ted Bundy- Ted Bundy was known for his infatuation with women and the cheap thrills he would get out of hurting them. Once he was incarcerated, he pleaded his innocence until his execution. Bundy traveled around the U.S. killing women in each state he visited. After doing his personal deeds, the remains of the bodies were thrown in a local woodsy area. For years, he got away with his crimes, up until the bones of the young women were found in Utah. Bundy’s murder scene became a pattern and that’s what got him caught in the first place.
Ted Bundy grew up to be a smart, political man. No one knew exactly what Ted was capable of, until he killed. As a young boy, he searched for acceptance and was never one to wear his heart on his sleeve. His love for women came from his personal fantasies he had as a young, growing, teenage boy.
Ed Gein- Ed Gein committed the most horrific and disturbing crimes in the world. The discovery was filled with such macabre and unbelievable acts. Police, at first, were looking for a local woman that went missing in Ed Gein’s farm house and were nowhere near prepared for what they found. Gein became obsessed with grave digging and he did just so. After digging up a fresh body of a woman, he would take it back to his isolated farm house, sodomize it and do as he pleased with the corpse. Police found body parts that were used as house-hold accessories, human skin was used for decoration and leg and arm bones were used as lamp posts. Ed used the remains of these bodies to trigger his taste buds. At that time, nothing like this has ever occurred, which caused his crimes to go down in history as the most horrific and grotesque happenings ever.
Ed grew up in a very dis-functional family and it obviously showed very clearly in his later years. There were rumors of incest and harsh religious behaviors. After his father died, his mother followed soon after and Ed was left in the farm house isolated and alone, until he was caught for his crimes. Gein was sent to a mental hospital where he was diagnosed with Schizophrenia and later admitted to being a cannibal and necrophiliac.
Zodiac Killer- The Zodiac killer haunted the streets of Northern California for years. Throughout those years, like Berkowitz, Zodiac sent letters to the police in cryptograms and symbols. He was given the name Zodiac because of those symbols. The Zodiac murdered over 37 people and left cruel evidence behind. But no matter how much evidence was found, this killer was never found. Up until 2004, the case still remained open.
Because the Zodiac was never found, all we know is the crimes he made and how he got away with them.
Charles Manson- Charles Manson was in and out of jail for petty, childish things, but nothing serious like it would be later on. He started a cult called “The Family.” This cult consisted of himself and 2 – 3 women. The murders they committed were nothing but torturous. Their victims’ bodies were covered in cuts, due to the multiple stabbings that occurred. The Family was mostly infamous for the murder of actress Sharon Tate.
As a child, Manson was confused about his gender because he was always called feminine. Family members either constantly made fun of him, or just ignored him all together. When he was a teenager, he could not stay out of trouble and it continued on through his adult years.
Jeffrey Dahmer- One of the most infamous murderers to go down in history for his grotesque crimes, along with Ed Gein. Jeff was responsible for the murder of 17 gay men. Jeff being gay himself, went to the gay bars at night, picked up a man and brought him home. Only problem is, these men never made it out. Dahmer would slip a downer in their drink and rape them when they were unconscious. Then, slowly but surely, he removed the body parts he pleased. He got away committing these crimes for awhile, although people had their suspicions. The police finally found reason to search his home and they could not believe their eyes. There were human heads and hearts in the refrigerator, internal organs in the freezer, skulls and bones, etc. As Dahmer confessed, police say is was like walking through the crime scene all over again.
Jeffrey Dahmer lived a normal life, up until his teenage years. As a teenager, Jeffrey was a bit of a loner and had trouble adjusting to his sexuality. While his friends went out and listened to cool music, Jeff was to busy collecting animal carcases and stripping them clean. When he was alone, his deepest wild fantasies would come alive. As he grew into an adult, he fulfilled his fantasies.
John Wayne Gacy- Between 1972 and 1978, John raped, tortured and killed 33 men. He was known around the neighborhood as “Pogo The Clown” who performed and child birthday parties. No one knew that their neighborhood friend and favorite clown, was a killer. John was in-the-closet about his sexuality and hid it from his family for years. Not only did he hide his sexuality, but he kept his victims a secret as well. After years of noticing a foul smell on his street, police became involved and obtained a search warrant to search John’s house. As the police were searching his house, they notice the foul smell is coming from Gacy’s crawl space. Officers go in there and dig around and find 29 bodies ranging from the ages of 9 to mid 20’s. John admitted the other bodies were dumped into a river.
There is not much biography on his childhood, but research shows that John Wayne Gacy was a normal man until he began adulthood. Fantasies of men eventually took over him and unleashed.
Aileen Wuornos- Aileen Wuornos killed 7 men in only one year. She was a prostitute and was known very well for those actions in Florida. Aileen claims her first victim tried to rape her and she killed him in self defense. Evidence shows no struggle at the scene and she in fact killed him in cold blood. Every victim after the first, was then shot, killed and robbed. She got away with killing 7 people, until eventually the police caught up with her. After she was incarcerated, even up until her execution, her case had been one big frenzy. She was in fact proven guilty, but swore up and down she was innocent, even to her last breath.
Aileen’s family was filled with incest members that would take advantage of her against her will. She was raped constantly as a child and became a prostitute at the age of 13. Her parents ignored her most of her life and she had no one close to her.
Dennis “BTK” Rader- BTK stands for bind them, torture them, kill them. Which is exactly what he did to his victims. He had a typical American job, was heavily involved with the church and was every body’s friendliest neighbor. But behind all of that, he held a deep dark secret that would blow the minds of everyone that knew him. BTK would stalk his victims for weeks, break into their homes, cut the phone lines, hide, rape, torture, and beat them. He would make sure his victims were alive to feel all of the suffering he puts upon them. After killing these people, he would send drawing, poems and letters to the police. Then in 2004, he sent one that was obvious and it gave him away completely. He was then sentenced to 175 years in prison without parole.
Dennis lived a perfect and typical life as a child and a teenager. But it seems as though, once he married, his sexually fantasies for women emerged and took over him.
