American Idol Will Return for the tenth season on January, 12.
1. Executive Producer Nigel Lytgoe announced further changes.
You probably know by now that Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are the new Idol judges among Randy Jackson. Kara DioGuardi won’t be returning. If you have read my articles before you also know that Nigel won’t allow contestants to “hide” behind their guitars anymore and my opinion on this one. According to Billboard.com and TV Guide.com the contestants will have to create a music video and work with dancers for an award style performances ( I think Nigel probably wants them to use SYTYCD Dancers) and also have to participate in a challenge to promote themselves. Sheesh. What is this now? A contest for an ALL Around Entertainer? Can you imagine Carrie Underwood having to do this? Would she still have won? Imagine the entertainer of the year Brad Paisley instructing background dancers!!! Don’t you have producers for producing a music video and a show for you? I want to hear them sing Nigel!!!
Anyway votefortheworst.com is upset that we won’t have a top twenty four this year and go straight to a top twelve which essential mean that we have less control over who we want to see in the top twelve and contestants like Kris Allen might not make it.
2. Sarah Palin’s new book also weighs in on Idol.
Ainow.org (A cool webpage by the way)reports that snippets of her book were leaked and that she describes people who are auditioning for the show as “talent deprived and self-esteem enhanced. She comments that there are victims of parents, teachers including our president who are afraid of telling them the truth. Sarah always has something to say, doesn’t she?
3. American Idol Winner Lee Dewyze just released his debut album.
And it is not looking good. He is expected to sell 45 000 albums this week which would make him the worst selling Idol winner right after my guy Kris Allen. Ouch! That hurts me to write that. The popular page votefortheworst has a summary of all the reviews including The New York Times, Hit Flix, Dallas News, Chicago Times and Entertainment News’s American Idol Fanatic Michael Slezak. The poor reviews don’t really help the guy. Honestly I was thinking of forcing myself to listen to every song and write a little review here but I just can’t do it especially after reading all the negative remarks. I sincerely like the guy as a person and I thought he made a great accomplishment reaching the top ten ,but I have never imagined him winning the whole thing especially since I thought his audition was a joke audition to begin with. You can also view his video for Sweet Serendipity over on votefortheworst. The song is alright.
Danny Gokey is about to release his Christmas album called Tennessee Christmas.
That is all what I have to say about that.
Jason Castro turned to Christian Contemporary.
I listened to his new song: “You are” yesterday while driving home at K-love. I like it. I always was a closet Castro fan even so I didn’t really realize it until after the season. Most of what I downloaded that year was Jason’s and David Cook’s performance. However I kind of wanted to know back then, that he was a man of faith and not years later after his first album flopped. However listening to every sample of his new album over on itunes makes me happy and proud to be associated with Idol and people like him coming from it. In short! I am either going to buy me the CD or have someone give it to me for Christmas.
4. If you don’t know it by now American Idol Chris Daughtry and his wife are parents of twins now.
Daughtry released a statement thanking everyone for their prayers and love and stated that he is overwhelmed with joys by this blessings from God. according to CNN Entertainment News. I am also so happy for him.
As we are getting closer to the Idol season I am becoming more and more exited of what is to come by acting like a sports fan in anticipation of the super bowl.
