Rowling made this donation in memory of her mother Anne, who died at age 45 from multiple sclerosis. The clinic will be named the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic, after Rowling’s mother. What a wonderful tribute to her mum. J.K. Rowling is using her love for her mum to reach out to the world and help others.
It seems that Edinburgh is a very special place for Rowling. Reuters reports that she had long wanted to do something for the city to show her gratitude.
