If you have created site users for your Joomla site, you have the option of editing them, deleting them, blocking them, and viewing information on them. In this guide, you will learn how to do just that. I will walk you through the above tasks and help you with the managing of your Joomla site users. Log into the admin area of Joomla and we will get started.
Viewing the List of Site Users in Joomla
We will start this guide by viewing a list of your site users. You must open the list of site users before you can complete any of the tasks below. To open your site users’ list, open the Site menu and click the User Manager link. The page will then load all of the users you currently have on your Joomla site.
Editing Site Users in Joomla
To edit a user, find the user you want to edit and check the box by that user’s name. Then click the Edit icon at the top of your Joomla window. When the page reloads, you will see the fields of information for that user. Edit what you need to and click the Save button at the top of the page. Click the Close button to return to your User Manager page.
Deleting Site Users in Joomla
If you need to delete site users, check the box next to the user or users you want to delete. Once you have checked the boxes, you can click the Delete button in the top, right menu and the user will be deleted. The page will refresh and the user will be gone.
Blocking Site Users in Joomla
You can block a user instead of deleting a user. If you want to block a site user, find the user on your User Manager page. Then check the box and click the Edit button at the top of your page. On the next page, look for the Block User option. Click the Yes field and click Save at the top of the page. The user will then be blocked.
