A couple weeks ago we noted that Junior’s was named “The Best Cheesecake in New York City” by NY Daily News, which of course is no surprise to anybody. That was, after all, the original goal of Junior’s Founder Harry Rosen more than 60 years ago: to make the best cheesecake in the city.
To that end, Harry and his son Alan (who still manages Junior’s today), tasted, scrutinized and dissected every cheesecake they could find in the city, developing their own recipe which they unveiled in 1951, and have been using ever since.
Tuesday, November 2nd, is the 60th birthday of Junior’s, and they are celebrating by offering the famous cheesecake at an unbelievable price of 60 cents a slice, reports NY Daily News.
Not to be caught resting on their cheesecake laurels either, Junior’s has been accepting cheesecake entries into a contest, the winner of which will be added to their already award winning lineup.
The judges will do their tasting and judging as part of the birthday festivities on Tuesday, as well as announcing the winner, at 2pm.
If you have yet to try Junior’s, there has never been a better day to visit them and help celebrate 60 years of perfection.
