Remember when Kanye West first came on the scene with a demure attitude like he was actually grateful for being in the spotlight? Remember when people were praising him as being a genius for his musical talent? I liked it so much better when he kept is stupid opinions to himself.
What is his issue? Does he know he’s being a ridiculous ingrate? Is it difficult for him to understand the meaning of the word brat? In all my years of entertainment reporting, I’ve come across performers on all levels who act like prima donas and it’s annoying. West is another prima dona with stars in his eyes fighting for the “poor oppressed black man (woman, child) etc.”
Why not fight for the oppressed period? Why do we have to have a color, Mr. West? I’d like to ask Kanye what he thinks about the type-casting in entertainment today where if you’re not a minority you basically can forget the part. What about that, Mr. West? What about the poor little white guy who can’t get any breaks because he’s not Asian, African, Indian, Turkish, Mexican or whatever else is going on in America today? Are you going to fight for them too?
Enough of the soap box, for a minute. Moving on…
Here we have Matt Lauer, perfectly within his scope and professional at all times, dealing with West who is being a princess. In the Today show interview, West is being asked legitimate questions and seems embarrassed by Lauer. He is point blank asked about the episode where he calls President George Bush a racist as well as the incident with Taylor Swift. You can see West squirming in his chair and looking for the nearest exit.
Clips roll while West is talking and he doesn’t like it. Well, too bad for you Kanye! Your pschy was disturbed which amused me. Lauer just sits there waiting for answers while West is clearly trying to avoid apologizing for anything.
It’s so obvious West doesn’t want to apologize for calling Bush a racist because he said during the interview he was getting a lot of pats on the back for saying it. Then Lauer pressures him to answer the question. He wants to know what West would say to the face of President Bush. Finally after a lot of putting his hand over his mouth and trying to hide, West admits he would apologize – but still won’t say the words. Lauer has to say it for him. I thought Lauer was going to bust a gut while interviewing this guy since it was obvious he doesn’t think West is all that and a bag of chips.
By the way Kanye, Bush didn’t say you calling him a racist was the worst moment of his presidency. He said is was the most despicable. There’s a difference Kanye – you know what the word means? You do have a dictionary I’m guessing since you seem to know how to “tweet.” There’s Dictionary.com – anyone? anyone?
Being a former entertainment reporter, I laughed when West tells the crew to be quiet (he can’t think when put on the spot) and later tells the the Today show crew “not to let it happen again!” referring to the sound of the tape of his infamous take-over on Taylor Swift rolling in the background. I mean come on, is West so disturbed by the fact he was put on the spot to apologize for his bad behavior that he can’t even see he’s being an even bigger jerk?
Black, purple, blue or white, Kanye West is a brat. There’s no doubt in my mind he’s probably a disrespectful fit thrower behind the scenes who tries to grab the spotlight whenever he can. Hasn’t the guy learned? Oh that’s right – no he hasn’t learned because he’s still doing the same thing expecting a different result. I guess he thinks the more he’s a jerk, the more he will get respect. Isn’t the definition of insanity, doing something over and over again the same way expecting a different result? OK, maybe his excuse is he’s insane!
Personally, I wish Kanye would crawl back in the hole he came from and leave the rest of the people in the world with one less brat on our hands.
The funniest thing said so far was by Bill Johnson, Jr. in his blog – “the defiant rapper…can’t take the heat.” (referring of course, to Kanye West)
Kanye – you make me tired!
