Mike stuck his head out of the car window like a Giraffe, trying to see past the cars in front of him and to find out what was holding up the traffic.
He had just returned from a Camping trip, which had to be abandoned because of the weather, and was supposed to be meeting his girlfriend, but as so often happens, you never know what lurks around the next bend.
He felt so frustrated, having allowed the energy to drain out of his cellphone battery over the weekend, and now he not only couldn’t call to apologise for being late, he couldn’t phone ahead and order pizza either.
One think Mike did know, was that he was developing a cold, and fast running out of energy.
The last think he fancied doing was going to that art exhibition this evening.
