A Katy Perry Sesame Street episode won’t see the light of day again. This Katy Perry Sesame Street episode wasn’t set to air until New Year’s Eve, but the segment where Perry performs made its way to YouTube. While there, the video received quite a few complaints, many from people claiming to be parents that found it to be objectionable, but in complaining, left objectionable comments themselves. According to TMZ, which posted the video, producers caved to the people complaining about the video, and her singing segment will no longer appear on the upcoming episode of Sesame Street.
There is going to be a lot of debate about this Katy Perry Sesame Street segment, and whether people went too far in their complaints. Many of the complaints stated that she was too exposed in the segment, and that she wasn’t dressed appropriately for a children’s show. Anyone who watches the video or has watched it already, might want to take a second look, because Perry was actually wearing a top that was partly flesh colored, so she wasn’t revealing nearly as much as some people were assuming. Perry probably thought that nobody would complain about her cleavage in this manner, and frankly, it is indeed surprising how many people complained.
It’s not often that an actress can state that they were determined to be “too hot for television”, but now Perry can add that to her ever-growing resume. Maybe producers shouldn’t have been so quick to cave to people complaining about a clip on YouTube, but they are trying hard to keep the image of their show intact, especially with all of the new children’s shows that are out there trying to take a bigger piece of the television ratings pie.
