Pop star Katy Perry won’t be appearing on PBS’ Sesame Street any time soon. A segment featuring the pop star, who filmed a tongue in cheek music video with muppet character Elmo for her song “Hot ‘N Cold”, has now been pulled from the long running children’s series. Perry was one of several big name celebs tapped for the series’ 41st season.
According to Ace Showbiz , Perry’s ‘Sesame Street’ music video segment was originally slated to air at the end of this year, but it has reportedly been yanked due to complaints from parents about Perry’s revealing outfit. Perry is wearing a bright yellow bustier in the video.
When the clip hit YouTube this week for a preview showing, parents went ballistic, posting thousands of complaints about Perry’s revealing attire.
Can you imagine if Perry had perfomed her song “I Kissed a Girl” instead? Of course that duet would have had to have been with Abby Cadabby, not Elmo…
Katy Perry’s “Hot N Cold” Sesame Street duet with Elmo has since been pulled from YouTube, indicating that the Children’s Television Network succombed to parental complaints that it was indeed too hot for tots.
