We purchased the Kodak EasyShare M573 about four years ago when we found out my husband was being deployed to Iraq. We were able to get it through the Kodak website for only around $150. This camera has lasted us this entire time and is still going strong.
The Kodak EasyShare M573 is small and portable. You can fit it into your pocket or your purse to take it wherever you are going that day. This camera has a 3X optical zoom and is 7.0 mega pixels. It has a great flash on it. It offers several different modes to include digital image stabilization, close up, sunset, video, and high ISO. I love the close up setting for taking small close up pictures such as things I want to list on ebay. This gets a very clear shot of them. We have taken several short videos of the kids and were very happy with them for such a small camera. It has a memory card slot for extra storage. It does a date and time stamp on the pictures which I really like to have for my shots.
You can buy a docking system for this camera, but we did not do this for it. We simply plug it into the computer and take the pictures off of it. This is also the way that you charge it. I really like that you can take the pictures off and then just leave it on the computer to charge up. It does also have a nice wrist strap on it. It has great review options where you can delete pictures off the camera.
One thing I love about this camera is how much it has been through and still works great. It spent one year in Iraq through dust storms and plane rides. It has been shoved in the bottom of bags and purses to come out going strong. I know my children have dropped this camera. It has a few scratches on the front but it has not changed the way it works at all. It is very durable as you can tell.
The one complaint that I have about this camera is the zoom. I do not feel like I can zoom in well enough. I don’t take pictures of birds in trees or anything far away. I am just looking to zoom in to my daughter’s face during a soccer game. If I upgrade to a newer camera, this will be the reason why I do it.
