What are known as ‘progressive economists’ are weighing in on Barack Obama’s pending replacement for top economic adviser, Larry Summers.
Larry Summers is, as the Huffington Post puts it, a “Robert Rubin disciple.” A Rubinite. (read about that here)
Larry Summers was the mind behind the Detroit automakers bailout, the $ 800+ billion stimulus package (and you, the average American consumer can feel that stimulation!), Cash for Clunkers, and, of course, pumping your tax dollars into Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, because they’re our friends.
And, of course, the economy hasn’t gotten any better. Oh, the large banks and corporations are thriving, and top executives are still receiving record bonuses for their hard work (it’s exhausting to pillage an entire nation, after all), but the average American household’s income is less than it was in December, according to the Federal Reserve data. (as reported by the Huff Post, click here)
For the real people, the financial crisis never ended. Thanks, Larry Summers. Thanks, Timothy Geithner.
These ‘progressive economists’ are saying a lot of things to Obama; what kind of candidate should replace Summers, what the candidate’s ‘philosophy’ should be, which administration and/or corporate background should the Summers replacement have, and on.
Who should replace top economic advisor, Larry Summers?
In the words of Henry David Thoreau (you know, the eccentric man who wrote Walden), “Simplify, simplify.”
So I too shall offer a simple solution.
Barack Obama, if the progressive economists are saying, “No More Rubinites”, I say, much more simply,
“No more assholes!”
