The shine of United States President Barack Obama has dulled.
For those of us who believed he was the beacon of light and freedom we were searching for, he let us down unmercifully. Our future is dim. There are dark clouds gathering over the nation. A sense of doom and foreboding hover over the middle class.
Obama is not the man we voted for. We might as well have kept the old administration there is so little difference between them.
Like his predecessor, he escalates our military involvement around the world.
Like his predecessor, he bails out giant financial institutions while the middle class suffers.
Like his predecessor, he hacks away at our precious freedoms and Constitutional rights almost daily. Even our Internet is on his sights.
Yet, despite the massive rejection of our hope, there is one thing, one solitary act he can perform that would gain him a bit of the belief and support he so badly needs now.
He must impose a moratorium on home foreclosures immediately. People are stressed to the breaking point. Families are being left on the streets. Lives are being torn apart. The very fabric of American society is being ripped to pieces.
The banks have been caught with their hand in the foreclosure till. There is a feeding frenzy going on and the middle class is chum.
The only hope the middle class has left is Obama declaring the moratorium.
Halt the foreclosures. The banks will survive. Homeowners will be able to maintain their homes rather than have the foreclosed home rot with no buyers in the market.
Communities will cease dying a slow and painful death…at least for a little while longer.
Call the moratorium a last straw to grab…some time bought to see the economy turn around or find another job…breathing room to try to figure out what’s next best to do.
Foreclosures are maggots in the flesh of America. We have heard of trickle-down economics? Now we have creeping-up poverty.
A homeowner loses his job. He falls behind on his mortgage trying to pay his credit cards. His home is foreclosed. He and his family move away. Ten more families in the community suffer the same fate and move. No one moves into those homes. Less people shop in the local shops. Small businesses fail and move. Department stores are next. Car dealerships follow. More people lose jobs. Communities disintigrate.
It’s like tooth decay. It just spreads until there is nothing left. The foreclosure blight continues unabated.
Someone has to do something. We need a President who will step to the plate and save his country. Do something President Obama, before it is too late.
