From reality TV star to bestselling author to fashion designer to….reality TV star? Former MTV’s The Hills star Lauren Conrad is reportedly in talks to star in a new reality TV show. But could it come with some stipulations?
According to Us Magazine, several networks are battling for a new Conrad reality series. Conrad was quoted in Us as saying, “The only way I’d return to reality TV would be if it allowed me to decide when the cameras stop.”
Last year Conrad walked away from the show that made her famous to pursue other opportunities- and the opportunities they were a plenty. Conrad penned two bestselling books- “L.A. Candy” and “Sweet Little Lies” (her third nook, “Sugar and Spice” is due out next month)- was the spokesperson for the Avon “Mark” line, and launched a clothing line for Kohl’s.
With all that on her plate, why oh why would she return to reality TV? Because she’s a smart cookie. Conrad must know where the real money is and she’s a hot enough commodity to have her cake and eat it too.
Since The Hills ended earlier this year, several other former cast members have found new reality TV gigs. Audrina Patridge recently signed on to ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. Heidi Montag has tweeted all about an upcoming reality gig with pal Jen Bunney (although it’s been silent on that front lately). And Kelly Cutrone, who showed up on both MTV series’ The Hills and The City, starred in her own reality show earlier this year with Kell on Earth. Hmm…maybe there’s room for Justin Bobby to be the next Bachelor.
As for Conrad, with talk of a network battle over her new reality show, the possibilities are endless and it sounds like Conrad could truly call the shots.
