Everybody has to clean. However, not everybody wants cleaners that are possibly toxic. When it comes to cleaning, natural solutions are what are wanted by many. Lemons offer plenty of nontoxic ways to clean items in the home. A benefit to cleaning with lemons is that they make everything smell good.
Clean the Toilet
Flush the toilet. Cut a lemon in half. Squirt some lemon juice from the lemon and pour about two tablespoons of baking soda into the toilet bowl. Use a cloth or a scrub brush to remove the stains from the toilet. Wash the cloth or brush afterwards. If wanted, let some lemon juice and baking soda sit in the toilet for ten to twenty minutes after scrubbing, then flush.
Clean the Bathtub
Cut a lemon in half and rub it on all the surfaces of the bathtub. Then pour baking soda lightly over the surfaces. Scrub with a scrub brush. Afterward, rinse the tub. If necessary, clean the tub with soap and water.
Rub half a lemon on a scrub brush and dust with baking soda. Scrub the sink. Rinse the sink. The sink will be shiny.
Scrub glass dishes with half a lemon and a coat with a light dusting of baking soda. Scrub or use a cloth to apply pressure to remove stains. This will even remove coffee stains from coffee mugs! Wash and dry as necessary.
Silicon bakeware is popular. However, it should not get too hot, even if it is branded as dishwasher safe. In order to remove stains from silicon bakeware, rinse, rub with half of a lemon, coat with baking soda, and scrub. Wash as necessary.
Remove Rust from Pans
Remove rust from pans by scrubbing with lemon juice and baking soda. Removing rust may take more than one scrubbing if there is a lot of rust on the pans.
Clean and Remove Lime Deposits from Sink Sprayer
Make a paste of lemon juice and baking soda. Dip the sink sprayer into the paste. Spray water through it. Scrub the outside to remove any deposits on the outside. Wash if necessary.
Clean Laptop or Computer Screens
Squeeze a light amount of lemon juice on a clean cloth. Gently rub the laptop or computer screen. It will be clean.
Skin and Face
Gently rub a lemon or lemon skin on your face. Be careful to avoid your eyes and any cuts or sores as a lemon is acidic and applying the acidic juice will hurt if there are any open areas. If the lemon juice burns your face, dilute it with water before trying again. Applying the lemon to your skin helps to remove dead skin cells. Never go out in the sun with lemon juice on your skin. Make sure to rinse it off before going outside so there are no reactions with the sun.
Make Garbage Disposals Quit Smelling Bad
What do you do with all those lemons and lemon skins once you are done using them to clean? Nobody wants to eat them. Chop them into small parts and put them into the garbage disposal. Run the garbage disposal while running warm water. This will make the garbage disposal smell better.
