Teaching your students the letters in the alphabet can be very exciting. However if not done properly it can become boring. Here are some fun ideas to use with your students while teaching them the letter C.
Letter C Games and Craft Ideas
A great game to play is called letter relay. Before class starts cut out all the letters from the alphabet making sure that there are more C’s than any other letter. When the students arrive divide them into two teams. Have the students line up back to back with their teammates. Scatter the Alphabet letters on the other side of the playing field. When you say go the first student must run to the other side of the playing field and find a letter C out of the letters. Then he or she must run back and tag the next person. Keep playing until all of the C’s have been found. The team with the most C’s at the end wins!
A great craft idea is to make cave paintings. Give each of your students a brown piece of construction paper. You can also use brown paper bags that have been cut so that they lay flat, if that is easier to obtain. Then give your students paint and brushes to draw cave paintings. Have them write some C’s on their paintings as well.
Letter C Field trip Ideas
A great field trip to take is to go to a craft store. Many craft stores offer children the chance to make a project to take home. Have your students make a project at your local craft store.
Another great field trip idea is to visit a cave. Your students will love exploring the cave with you. They can also learn interesting facts about caves while going on this tour.
Another idea for a field trip is to visit a candy store. You can obtain candy that the children can eat later. They could also pick out candy for certain projects or games that you are doing in the classroom.
Letter C Snack Ideas
One snack idea is to have your students make cereal necklaces. Give each of your preschoolers a string and some cereal. Make sure that the cereal is the type that has holes in the middle. Have your students string the cereal onto the string to make a necklace. They can then eat the cereal necklaces.
Another great snack idea is to make cookies. You can have your students decorate the cookies before eating them. Some supplies that you could use are sprinkles, different colored icing, and different candies to put on top of them.
By incorporating these ideas into your letter C lesson plan, your students will have a lot of fun. They will learn all about the letter C while doing activities, going on field trips, and eating great snacks.
