I sat here reading an article concerning “lightning” and ponder what lightning truly is. It’s pure, just wrap your mind around the idea that heaven and earth have come together and made a child, that child would be lighting. Nothing else in the atmosphere is so magnificent, so humbling, than is lightinng. A perfect child, each and every strike is different in its own way, in pattern and in path.
I read that each bolt has enough electricity to power a 100 watt light bulb for just under two months, Wow!! What took man over 2 million years of evolution to discover god was using since the inception of time, and with just as much vengeance. Lighting is both revered and feared, as though it should be, nothing else has the power to reach out and touch you like lighting, imagine if man were to be able to manufacture lighting, or could even harness or control it in some manner or method, what would humanity use such a force for?
I could never understand how someone could witness the power of this miracle of nature and not be convinced of a god, or at least some higher order. Nothing pours down from the heaven, as if it has been thrown from the hand of Zeus himself, than does lighting. Lightning also represents the hand of fate and fair-play, when you think of someone doing something they shouldn’t what is you’re first thought, they should be struck by lightning right. If us as human beings associate lighting with the eradication of sin, then why does all humanity cower at the veracity of lightning; it is because all humanity is proven sinful under the eyes of god, and knows with lightning he can reach out and touch us anytime anywhere. Would lightning be a vicious, poisonous snake cast down from the heavens to inflict punishment upon man, or a simple un-willing angle of death that is cursed to strike misfortune upon the undeserving? Is lightning a god in itself, or is it the right hand of providence, no man can know the soul of lightning, only the wrath of it.
Lightning is perfection; it is the creator and destroyer, the giver and the taker away. Lightning is the perfect neighbor, as quickly as it comes it goes away, and only stays long enough to do something specific. Consider lighting as the flash on the camera when god takes a snapshot, maybe he likes to keep pictures of his kids around to. Even an un-godly man will bow before the power of Mother Nature, and nothing makes a man kneel like lightning. Lightning is all around us; it can even strike on a clear day, and may at times not even give an example of its presents until it has rained down devastation to someone below.
Today we think we got lightning figured out; tell that to those who are struck. No matter what we think we have discovered we must remember that lightning is still the hand of fate; and all things on this earth still fall under the hand of fate.
