Lindsay Lohan jail time was already cut short once. But now, another Lindsay Lohan jail sentence is at hand, as the latest Lindsay Lohan jail term has already started. After the troubled actress admitted that she failed another drug test, she was expected to face the music. She had professed on Twitter that she was ready to face the consequences, yet she is getting an early test on that promise. Her hearing with Judge Elden S. Fox resulted in no mercy, as he ruled that a new Lindsay Lohan jail sentence must begin immediately, without bail.
When Lohan was sent to prison the first time, she was released early under a strict probation. Even one failed random drug test would land her back in front of Judge Fox, which it did today. It was obvious that some kind of sentence would be handed out, but there was hope that a bail would be set first.
Instead, Judge Fox declared no bail, starting another Lindsay Lohan jail sentence right then and there. Unless her lawyers can successfully appeal, she will be remanded in custody until her next hearing on October 22. There, Judge Fox will determine if she officially violated her probation, and what her full sentence would be.
The last Lindsay Lohan jail stint lasted only 14 days, then it was cut short so she could go to rehab. But if the judge sticks to her no bail ruling, she will have spent 29 days in custody until her official sentence comes down. Her attorney, Shawn Chapman Holly, has said that she is “entitled to bail” based on the case law, and has already talked to Judge Fox about it, according to Radar Online.
It did not take long for Lohan’s latest mug shot to hit the Internet, as she was already in prison orange. Since the latest Lindsay Lohan jail sentence could be twice as long as the last one, even before the next hearing, it appears they are not going easy on her.
The actress/tabloid magnet did say on Twitter that she would face her demons this time. To her credit, she did not break down when the ruling was handed out, unlike months ago. At this point, any slim signs of progress will do, especially since she seems to be running short on chances from Judge Fox.
If the new Lindsay Lohan jail stint doesn’t send a clear message, then there may not be much more that can be done. Tabloids and blogs have declared her to be a lost cause for years, but supporters still insist that she’s not beyond saving yet. A better idea of that will come after she returns to the outside world.
