Lipitor Recall 2010
Pfizer, the company that makes Lipitor, has recalled the known medication (40mg). The 40 mg Lipitor was recalled because consumers were reporting an odor when taking the medication. Pfizer isn’t real sure how the odor has come about but are working hard to correct it and get the medication back to consumers. Pfizer believes the odor come from the packaging of the medication.
While medication should always be taken as prescribed by your physician/doctor, if you should happen to be taking this medication or know someone who is, please be aware of this recall as it could pose some health concern. Pfizer claims it poses none at the moment.
If you or someone you know is taking this medication, and experience any odor, return the bottles to the pharmacy that filled the prescription. Also you may call 1-800-LIPITOR, and discuss what you should do; but there will be no refund, Pfizer says. The pharmacy, at which you purchased the LIPITOR (40MG), may offer you a refund. You would have to speak to them, and see what their refund policy is.
