Game shows have been a long time standing in home family entertainment. With so many different shows, there are bound to be some great moments caught on tape and some laugh out loud moments too! Let’s take a look at some of the top moments in game show history.
“The Price is Right”
One recent favorites has to be the the contestant that fainted live on air in Jan. 2010. The woman made it through to the Showcase Showdown. As the announcer was introducing her potential prizes, they revealed the new car, and the woman fainted with excitement! Watch the video on TMZ.com and see for yourself! A game show hosted by Alex Trebek, is based on a battle of wits. One contestant, Brad Rutter, takes the cake, the ice-cream, and the punch, in overall money won. He battled head to head with Ken Jennings, who is Jeopardy’s 2ND top winner overall, with just over $3 million. Brad walked away the top winner with an all time total of 3.2 million dollars. “Wheel of Fortune”
One of the most shocking moments on the “Wheel of Fortune” game show, has to be when Pat Sajak plants one on Vanna White. Jaws dropped around the world when the two game show hosts locked lips. “The Newlywed Game”
For some good laughs, look no further than the classic version of “The Newlywed Game”. In one episode the wives are asked to finish this phrase “My husband is a closet ____?”. Some of the wives answered, “case” or “freak”. One wife named Edie, replied “queen”. Everyone immediately busted into laughter. After composing themselves, including Bob Eubanks, the husbands were brought back out on stage for their answers. Bob Eubanks told Edie’s husband, Charlie, to “brace himself” for her answer. “Press Your Luck”
“No whammy, no whammy, Stop!” That’s what a man named Michael Larson did, to the tune of $110,000 in over 40 spins on the game show “Press Your Luck”. After CBS investigated the win, due to the extraordinary amount of money won. They found out that Michael had figured out the pattern of the board, and was able to tell where there would be no whammies!
