I can only say “Hallelujah! Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!” Can ya believe the time of our national redemption has finally arrived? I have been waiting for this since November 4th, 2008. Why, one might ask? Wish to “wish my life away?” Maybe…
For the record, this feels like redemption, pardon the religious imagery, but it is what it is. I have been told I am in the rather extreme and radical minority. That was a lie. I was told a wave was sweeping over my nation and I would go along or be “dragged kicking and screaming.” That too was a lie and a damnable one too boot!
Before the name Barack Obama became a household word, I was railing against the reality our nation is now mired in. Me and my fellow amateur pundits were screaming well before the 2008 election, that Obama was not a centrist. Was not a uniter. Was not new and refreshing. Was not the deliver of “hope & change.” Was not a refreshing ray of sunshine in an otherwise dismal political landscape. He was and is the dark cloud and not a silver lining anywhere on any horizon. We told a nation not listening that where we are today was EXACTLY where he would take us. Don’t those who poo-pooed that then feel stupid now? If not, you’re not paying attention!
We screamed from the tops of our fingers that this man was more leftist and radical than any to ever to be nominated by one of the two major parties in the US. We railed on and on that a nation was being sold a bill of goods. It wasn’t until the election drew near that I actually came to grips that my nation was so politically naive as to believe a word out of this man’s mouth. McCain had taken a lead then the housing market crashed and Obama had his 11th hour savior ride in on a black horse.
I have come to see his wagging finger as a bludgeon he was hoping to smote me with. I see his arrogant expressions as what they are – his own conviction that he is better than we, his constituents. And speaking of convictions, should Republicans do as Pelosi and her little majority did in 2007, when they spent 2 full years launching more than 300 inquires and official Congressional investigations into the Bush Administration? I mean, Dems were all for it then, so will they now be all for the new Republican Congress launching investigation after investigation in Obama Administration activities? Betcha those same noble Democrats will scream from the Heavens! Hypocrites! Recall Pelosi and progressives were 0-300 in that effort.
I will confess however that this event has left a lasting and negative impression upon me, but in the main it has been a enlightening experience. I had no idea progressives hated our Constitution so damned much that to counter me and mine they would take on and denigrate the principles in that august document. I guess really more shocked that so many rank and file would agree with the progressive intelligentsia in any way. I grasp sleeping with the Devil to win, but to actually portray the Constitution as so flawed as direly in need of major alteration was the part I was surprised by.
Add in all the “racist, bigot, blah, blah, blah” and progressives wore out their welcome about two weeks into their stewardship.
Nations, despite the talking points forwarded by progressives and swallowed in their entirety by their constituents, must be financially solvent to do anything for their citizens. Our nation is on the precipice of financial insolvency. It will take extreme measures to stave off such a reality. I will be voting for people who see and acknowledge the dire straight we are in.
As one who is a dozen years from collecting my SSI, I will support those who advocate the delaying of my collecting the benefits I have earned and deserve. My lovely wife will too. I will support raising the retirement age as well as supporting a complete lifting of the cutoff for contributions. Every dollar earned should be taxed to go to keep SSI and the funds needed for the less well off. I will support NOT giving benefits to the very well off, no matter how much they paid. If I were somehow “well off” thus not be given the benefits I earned, I would gladly forgo them.
See, unlike the lip service crowd, me and mine put our money where out mouths, or in this case, the voting booth, is. I care more for my nation than for my own personal pocketbook. Most all of my compatriots do as well.
So, how is it again me and mine are the bad guys? The “un-American” ones? The selfish, money grubbing ones? The self obsessed? Oh, that’s right. We’re not. Never were. That was just a political talking point.
Tuesday morning cannot come quick enough. I doubt I’ll sleep much that night or the next day as I, in my Snidely Whiplash persona, dress in long black coat, black top hat and twirl my handlebar mustache as I delight in watching Nell (progressives) get run over by that fast moving train. That’s gonna leave a mark Bitches! Enjoy the fruits of your arrogance. Comeuppance sucks, don’t it?
As the curtain on this ugly era lowers, picture me laughing in a long, slow manner where I revel in what is about to be visited upon those so deserving.
