John 3:16 “For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”
The love that is stated in this scripture is what is known as Agape love. The meaning of this hebrew word is unconditional. How great is this, that God loved us so much that he had his Son die unconditionally for our sins. Because Jesus has given us this love, he expects us to pass it on.
1John 4:7-9Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
If we do not have love, we do not know God! God is able to forgive us for things that we do towards him in our lives. This was done through His Son, Jesus. Jesus taught us to forgive those who do us wrong and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.
Matthew 5:44 & 45 “But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven’ for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”
Remember, as you go throughout your day to think, What would Jesus want me to do today? We all need to start focusing on the needs of others instead of the needs of yourself. There are so many ways that you can show love and we need to pass on the love that we know in Jesus, through His salvation.
Sometimes it seems that we lose focus on all the things that God has done in our lives and start to concentrate on the less important. When we lose focus we are taking our burdens into our own hands while removing them from Gods. Jesus teaches us according to Matthew 6:25 & 26,
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?”
“Look to the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”
There are many times that we all must face trials and tribulations, but God doesn’t expect us to do this on our own. He tries to teach us not to take life into our own hand but to give our life to Him so He can take care of us, as He has even the birds of the air.
As we go through this week, we need to remember all the blessings that God has bestowed upon us. Thanking Him for taking care of our bodies, spirits, and souls.
