Sure, you may have a wonderful boyfriend or husband and a ton of friends, but regardless, there are still going to be times when you have no one to hang out with but yourself. Some women are so afraid of being alone because, truthfully, at times it can be quite boring – they say one is a lonely number. At first being alone kind of sucks because you have no one to talk to, but it is a part of life that can be fun if you utilize your alone time effectively. Regardless, spending time alone is just a temporary state and if you try doing some of these activities alone, you might actually start enjoying your solo time.
Alone Time Activity #1 – Plan a Weekend Trip
The best part of my weekends is that I travel alone. I get to explore cities like Vienna on my own time and it feels great to have that time to myself to see whatever I want at my own pace. Plan a day or weekend trip online at a nearby city that you have always wanted to visit, but never had the chance to go to. Traveling alone is fun because you get to meet interesting people along the way and nothing is wrong with broadening your horizons.
Alone Time Activity #2 – Pamper Yourself From Head-to-Toe
Take the night off to pamper yourself from head-to-toe. Start off by deep conditioning your hair and apply a mud mask to your face while you take a relaxing bubble bath. After rinsing the mud mask, remove left over traces of dirt and oil with a refreshing toner, then apply a deep moisturizer. You can even pluck your eyebrows and give yourself a manicure and pedicure. After this ritual, you will feel like a million bucks.
Alone Time Activity #3 – Clean Out Your Closet
Ever notice your closet is getting full of clothes and shoes that you don’t even wear? If you have clothes still hanging in your closet from the 1990’s, then you know it is time to clean out your closet. Take out all the clothes and shoes that you haven’t worn in the past two years and put them in some boxes or bags and give them away to charity. I know it is going to be hard to give away things with sentimental value, but if you haven’t touched it in years, then it means it probably has to go. This activity will take hours to complete, so after you are done order a pizza and treat yourself.
Alone Time Activity #4 – Go to a Bookstore
I know I sound like a complete nerd, but going to a bookstore is alot of fun. Pick up some magazines or an interesting novel and go hit the bookstore cafe. Enjoying a cup of coffee while reading is a great way to relax alone.
Alone Time Activity #5 – Exercise
Go for a jog or hit the gym, exercising is the best activity to do alone because you can go at your own pace and you are getting fit at the same time. You can even go cycling or for a hike, it can be very refreshing to be alone while getting some fresh air.
Alone Time Activity #6 – Go to the Beach
During my summer holidays in Europe, I go to the beach for a few hours and enjoy reading a book while getting a tan. Swimming is also a lot of fun and after I grab an ice cream cone and call it a day. Alone time has never been this great.
Alone Time Activity #7 – Go Shopping
I love shopping by myself because you have all the time in the world to browse what’s in the stores and you can try on anything you want at your own pace. Instead of clothes shopping, why not give your place a make over and pick up a few things like new pillows, bedsheets, or a vase.
