This Thanksgiving craft is a great way to use up extra craft supplies you have lying around the house. Personalizing the napkin holders with each guest’s name is a great way to make them feel welcome and at home.
Paper Towel Roll
Razor Blade/ Scissors
This Thanksgiving make your own napkin holders. When you finish a roll of paper towels, keep the empty roll. Cut it in pieces about 2 inches long. Using a razor blade will help ensure that you do not smash the roll (like you might with scissors).
Decorate the paper towel rolls. If painting, make sure to paint the inside of the paper rolls first, and than let them dry.
If you are working with young children, you may want to pre-paint the paper towel rolls so the children can start decorating with the cloth, gems, tissue paper or construction paper right away.
The construction paper and tissue paper can bleed if they get wet. So if you have a fancy table setting you may want to avoid using these supplies. Using the gems or puffy paint will save your table set from destruction if something gets wet.
