When you delete (trash) articles in Joomla, they are only removed from the article list. The articles will be placed in the trash can on Joomla. In this tutorial, I will show you how to manage your deleted articles in Joomla. In a way, it is good the articles are not completely deleted. You never know when you may accidentally delete an article you need or decide later on that you need the article. To get started, you will need to login to your admin panel of Joomla.
Opening Your Deleted Articles in Joomla
We will begin with opening the deleted articles section in Joomla. This section is also known as the Article Trash section. At the top of your Joomla menu, find the Content menu and place your mouse on it. When the sub-menu opens, you will need to click the Article Trash option. That will load the trash section and you will see your deleted articles.
Completely Removing Articles from Your Site in Joomla
To completely get rid of your articles, you will need to delete them from the Article Trash page. To do this, you will need to check the box next to an article you want to remove. Then you can click the Trash icon at the top of your page. You will be warned that it will be completely removed from your site. Agree and it will be removed.
Restoring Deleted Articles in Joomla
If you want to restore an article and place it back on your article page, follow these steps. Check the box next to the article you want to restore. Go to the top of the page and click the Restore icon. The article will then be returned to your article page and from there you can edit it, publish it, or whatever you want to do with it.
You can restore more than one article by checking all of the boxes beside the articles you want to restore. Then you can click Restore and it will restore all of them. You can also delete more than one article at a time by checking the boxes next to the articles you want to delete. Then click the Trash button and the articles will be deleted.
