Dr. Malinda Sapp, the wife of Gospel music recording artist, Marvin L. Sapp, has succumbed to colon cancer. Dr. Sapp was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer in April 2009 and underwent treatments. The Sapps shared their battle and requested corporate 24 hour prayer for MaLinda’s recovery. The Sapp family reported a clean bill of health for MaLinda earlier this year. The cancer returned and Marvin Sapp reportedly canceled many of his engagements to spend more time with his wife and family.
Marvin and MaLinda Sapp are the pastors at Lighthouse Full Life Center. Dr. Malinda Sapp was a psychologist, licensed counselor, a college professor, and speaker. MaLinda was also the Administrative Pastor of Lighthouse Full Life Center Church at Kingdom Square. MaLinda Sapp was credited as a producer of some Marvin Sapp’s audio recordings. The couple were married for 15 years and have three children together.
Marvin Sapp is a Grammy nominated Gospel singer, known for such hits as Never Could Have Made It and Best in Me. Sapp is also the former member of the Gospel group sensation, Commissioned, along with Fred Hammond.
There are not many details at this point and the family did not give an official press statement regarding MaLinda’s death yet. We should remember the Sapp family in this difficult time. Please give the Sapp family your prayers, support, and condolences.
