“I know what you did. I know what you took,” were the last words the man in Allison’s dream will remember. Just moments after those words were said the guy dressed in a silver space suit set his trailer on fire. When Allison wakes up, she thinks it was just one of her normal dreams until Joe starts talking to her and she doesn’t understand a word he says even though he is speaking clearly.
Joe takes Allison to the hospital afraid she is having another stroke. Dr. Natalie Salem, played by Rena Sofer, is the hot doctor that tells Joe that there is nothing physically wrong with Allison. That it is hysterical amnesia that is causing her to be unable to understand English. She goes on to tell Joe that life must be hard living with a woman like Allison. She offers him her business card and tells him he can call her if he needs anything.
The next morning Allison wakes up at home not remembering how she got there. Joe basically plays charades with her to communicate. District Attorney Devalos informs Allison that what happened in her dream was arson and murder.
As Allison is leaving the office for the day she hears a conversation that she can understand. She approaches the woman and lets her know she can understand her. The woman is confused at first since she is speaking in Diné Bizaad, an ancient Navajo Language. She introduces herself to Allison as Jane Livingston. She tells Allison that she knows a lot of the native Navajo and that she offered she services to the police but they declined. Allison told her that she would work it out.
Life is tough at the Dubois household. Bridgette takes full advantage of Allison not being able to understand. Joe begins to vent his frustrations to Allison who can’t understand a word he is saying. At one point her dials the hot doctor’s phone number but hangs up on her voice mail when Allison walks in.
Allison has another dream where she sees another person being shot in a trailer. When her and Jane arrive at the crime scene Allison touches a gun that the police had found inside. She has a vision of the two murdered men robbing a bank together. The robbers got away with one million dollars.
Another dream leads Allison to see a man hitting Jane on the back of the head. She tries to call with no avail leading her to believe Jane was the next victim. Allison realizes that the same man that shot the second victim is the same man that hit Jane on the head. Allison is very concerned when she can’t get a hold of Jane.
A dream shows Allison the guy that murdered the bank robbers running away from the trailer and getting into the getaway car. After a few moments Allison sees that the getaway is none other than Jane.
Jane calls Allison the next morning and Allison reads her the riot act. As Jane is shopping she is not paying attention to those around her and she tells Allison that she was under paid and that she deserved the million dollars.
In Allison’s final dream she sees the man Jane was buying a necklace from in her room with Jane tied on the floor begging for her life. The man tells Jane that she should be careful what she says when other people can hear her right before he kills her. Allison is startled awake. Joe asks if she is ok. Allison says that she is fine.
