There’s an abundance of frozen breakfast sandwiches in supermarkets and at fast foods to choose from. It’s not uncommon to see a breakfast sandwich that has a sausage patty, a slice of cheddar cheese and some egg between two halves of a biscuit or a croissant. It’s uncommon however to see a breakfast sandwich that’s like Michelina’s Sausage, Egg and Cheese Breakfast Snackers, though. This breakfast sandwich looks just like a biscuit that hasn’t been sliced yet. Now the biscuit itself had a good flavor to it and it was soft and smooth, too, but the real flavor awaited inside, where the chopped up sausage, scrambled eggs and melted cheddar cheese all were.
This breakfast sandwich is reasonably tasty, although I do feel that it could definitely stand some improvement. The chopped up sausage in particular is what brings the quality of the sandwich down to an extent. The sausage is kind of bland. It just doesn’t taste like much. The sausage didn’t have the same flavor as say the Morning Star Sausage Patties or the Jimmy Dean Sausage Patties. Not only was the flavor of the sausage somewhat disappointing, I also felt the texture of the sausage was too mushy and soft. I did like the scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese though. The scrambled eggs tasted as if they had just come off the skillet, so they were tasty, fluffy and thankfully not oily. The melted cheddar cheese tasted good mixed in with the scrambled eggs, although I would’ve liked more melted cheddar cheese than what was present in the sandwich.
Two breakfast sandwiches come in a package and each breakfast sandwich is about the size of a typical breakfast sandwich that can be bought from a grocery store’s frozen food refrigerated case. One sandwich isn’t filling enough for me though and when I would have one, I would have it with a bowl of cereal. I paid just one dollar for a package of Michelina’s Sausage, Egg and Cheese Breakfast Snackers, although that was a sale price and regular price is closer to one dollar and fifty cents. While the biscuit, scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese are all satisfying to the taste, the chopped up sausage isn’t as good as the refrigerated or frozen sausage patties that are sold in stores and cooked on the stove or even the sausage patties that are served on biscuits at McDonald’s. For that reason, I likely won’t purchase this Michelina’s product again unless I can get it on sale.
